Ministry of Education EXTERNAL CREDENTIALS (Industrial and Occupational Courses) for High School Students
The External Credentials Program (ECP) gives students in Grade 10, 11 and 12 the opportunity to earn graduation credits for sport learning through approved industrial and occupational courses. Students who have been certified in one or more of the following programs are eligible to receive graduation credits.
English Rider Preparation 1 (2 credits)
English Rider Preparation 2 (4 credits)
English Rider Preparation 3 (4 credits)
Western Rider Preparation 1 (2 credits)
Western Rider Peparation 2 (2 credits)
Western Rider Preparation 3 (4 credits)
Western Rider Preparation 4 (4 credits)
The Ministry of Education is responsible for the External Credentials program. DETAILS Students who have been certified in the approved courses before they reach Grade 10 can receive credit for their past learning by providing the certificate of course completion to their high school counsellor. Check to see if your course is approved to receive credit in the External Industrial and Occupational Course Program. English Rider Preparation and Western Rider Preparation are approved courses starting 2006.
These Preparation exams are to be administered by Equine Canada Active Certified Coaches.
Testing is set up by the student and the Coach at a mutually convenient time and place.
A processing fee of $$21.05 is payable to Horse Council BC for each exam.
Exams are both practical and written.
Riders must be Horse Council BC members at the time they are tested.
